All Eyes on Nekoyashiki-kun! Notice Me, Not My Characters #1

All Eyes on Nekoyashiki-kun! Notice Me, Not My Characters debuted as a comedic manga series exploring the professional and personal tensions of a manga creator, Nekoyashiki-kun. The first issue establishes the central conflict of the series, where the protagonist struggles to be recognized for his own presence rather than being overshadowed by the popularity of his fictional creations. The series emerged from the contemporary trend of meta-commentary within the industry, providing a lighthearted yet insightful look at the relationship between authors and their audiences.

The character design and visual direction emphasize the duality between the creator's modest personality and the vibrant, expressive nature of his illustrated characters. By utilizing contrasting aesthetics, the artistic team aimed to visually communicate the protagonist's feelings of invisibility. Upon release, the debut issue was well-received by readers for its relatable premise and its ability to blend humor with a genuine exploration of the creative process.
