Ane no Kawari ni, Yomei Ichinen to Iwareru Kōshaku Shisoku-sama to Konyaku Suru Koto ni Narimashita #1

Ane no Kawari ni, Yomei Ichinen to Iwareru Kōshaku Shisoku-sama to Konyaku Suru Koto ni Narimashita, released as a manga adaptation in 2021, originated from a popular light novel series penned by Fuuju Mizunagi. The narrative belongs to the burgeoning Isekai and romance sub-genres, focusing on a protagonist who enters into a contractual engagement with an aristocrat who has been given a terminal prognosis. This trope-heavy premise allowed the series to find a firm foothold within the digital-first manga market, catering to readers who enjoy emotionally driven, character-focused dramas within a fantasy setting.

The adaptation was illustrated by artist Hiyoko Inugami, who employed a delicate, expressive aesthetic to emphasize the series' romantic tone and the melancholy of the male lead's situation. The visual style prioritizes character interaction and period-inspired attire, aiming to evoke a sense of refined, courtly intimacy. Upon its release, the first volume was well-received by fans of the light novel, who praised the faithful transition of the source material's tension and the charming character designs that defined this iteration of the story.
