Aztek: The Ultimate Man #4

Aztek: The Ultimate Man was launched by DC Comics in 1996 as part of a creative collaboration between Grant Morrison and Mark Millar, with interior art primarily by N. Harris. The series was designed to introduce a modern, mythologically driven superhero who functioned as a high-tech agent for a mysterious ancient order, blending corporate culture with secret society intrigue. The title was part of a mid-nineties push to expand the DC Universe with fresh, conceptually dense character archetypes.

Issue number four serves as a pivotal installment in the character's narrative arc, deepening the mystery surrounding the Q-Foundation and the looming cosmic threat Aztek was built to face. While the series was critically praised for its sharp dialogue and intricate world-building, it struggled to find a wide commercial audience, leading to its cancellation after ten issues. Despite its short run, the character maintained a cult following and eventually became a staple of various Justice League storylines.
