Azur Lane: Bisoku Zenshin! #3

Azur Lane: Bisoku Zenshin! began as a four-panel manga series serialized in the Japanese publication Ichijinsha's Monthly Comic Rex. The series was created by the artist Hori to provide a lighthearted, slice-of-life counterpoint to the intense military themes of the parent mobile game, Azur Lane. The third issue continues the focus on the domestic lives and comedic interactions of the ship-girls as they navigate daily life at their base, shifting the focus away from naval combat toward character-driven humor.

The character designs were overseen by Hori, who aimed to emphasize expressive, chibi-style aesthetics that contrasted with the more elaborate illustrations found in the game's standard marketing materials. This shift in artistic direction was intended to deepen fan engagement with the personalities of the characters, and the series was generally well-received by the existing player base for successfully translating high-stakes tactical units into relatable, everyday protagonists.
