Azur Lane: Bisoku Zenshin! #4

Azur Lane: Bisoku Zenshin! began as a four-panel comic strip series published on the official Japanese Twitter account for the mobile game Azur Lane. Written and illustrated by Hori, the series was designed to showcase a lighter, comedic side of the game’s various ship-girls, contrasting with the intense naval combat of the main title. The series proved successful enough to be collected into tankōbon volumes, with the fourth volume released to capture the ongoing adventures of the characters Javelin, Ayanami, Laffey, and Z23.

Hori’s artistic style in these volumes focuses on soft character designs and slice-of-life tropes, aiming to build a deeper emotional connection between the players and the personified warships. The reception among the community has been largely positive, as the series successfully bridged the gap between game updates by providing a consistent narrative outlet for character development and humor. Volume four continues the established format, further cementing the franchise’s expansion into multi-media storytelling.
