Badger #20

Badger #20 was published in 1987 as part of the ongoing series created by writer Mike Baron. The series, originally launched under Capital Comics and later moved to First Comics, centered on Norbert 'Badger' Sykes, a martial artist with multiple personalities who could communicate with animals. This issue emerged during a period of creative experimentation in independent comics, where Baron utilized the character to blend surreal, often dark humor with intense action sequences.

The visual identity of the series was largely defined by collaborators such as Bill Reinhold, whose gritty and detailed illustrative style grounded the eccentric premise. Badger was well-regarded by critics for its refusal to adhere to traditional superhero tropes, instead favoring a narrative voice that was both satirical and deeply psychological. By the time this issue was released, the title had established a dedicated cult following that appreciated its departure from the mainstream editorial standards of the era.
