Battlestar Galactica #22

Battlestar Galactica #22 was published in 1980 by Marvel Comics as part of their monthly adaptation series based on the original 1978 television show. During this era, Marvel utilized the comic medium to extend the narrative life of the series, which had been canceled on television. This particular issue belongs to the later run of the series, a period marked by shifting creative teams attempting to maintain fan engagement long after the source material had ceased production.

The art and writing for the final stretch of this series were often handled by rotating contributors who worked to adapt the show's aesthetic into a serial comic format. Because the series was struggling with declining sales as interest in the original show waned, the creative goals shifted toward wrap-up arcs and standalone adventures. It remains a notable relic of Marvel's late-seventies and early-eighties strategy of licensing television properties to reach television-viewing audiences who were looking for additional content.
