Black Condor #11

Black Condor #11 was published by Quality Comics in 1943 during the Golden Age of comic books. The series followed the adventures of Richard Grey Jr., a character created by Will Eisner and Lou Fine who gained the ability to fly after being raised by condors in the Himalayas. This specific issue emerged during the height of the character's popularity, as Quality Comics sought to maintain a competitive lineup of superhero titles alongside established icons like Plastic Man and The Spirit.

The visual identity of the Black Condor series was heavily influenced by the distinct illustrative style of Lou Fine, whose dynamic anatomical work defined the character's early appearances. While the title often balanced pulp-adventure tropes with traditional superhero archetypes, Black Condor #11 represents the mid-run era of the series. The character was eventually absorbed into the DC Comics universe decades later, solidifying the importance of these original Quality Comics issues as foundational pieces for collectors of Golden Age lore.
