Where it came from
Published as part of the @comic label, this volume adapts the light novel series written by Hōzuki Kizuna, which centers on a protagonist who moves to the countryside only to find it populated by supernatural beings. The adaptation reflects the growing trend in contemporary Japanese light novel culture of deconstructing the 'isekai' or 'rural migration' fantasy tropes by introducing elements of eldritch horror and dark comedy.
The manga serialization features art that emphasizes the sharp contrast between the idyllic, peaceful life the protagonist desires and the bizarre, otherworldly reality they encounter. It was developed to capture the unique tone of the source material, balancing character-driven humor with unsettling imagery to appeal to readers of supernatural comedy series.
