Where it came from
This volume is part of the manga adaptation of the light novel series Boku wa Ima Sugu Zense no Kioku wo Sutetai, which follows a protagonist attempting to escape the traumatic memories of their past life by moving to a remote rural village. The narrative explores the contrast between the character's desire for a quiet pastoral life and the reality of a town populated by supernatural entities, blending tropes of modern reincarnation fiction with horror and dark fantasy elements.
The @comic adaptation is serialized within the digital framework of the @comic label, designed to translate the source material's atmospheric world-building into a visual medium. The series focuses on the dissonance between the protagonist’s idyllic expectations and the perilous nature of their new home, with artwork that emphasizes the uncanny qualities of the village inhabitants. It is marketed toward readers who enjoy subversions of the typical 'isekai' or reincarnation genre, shifting the focus from empowerment toward survival and psychological tension.
