Buffy the Vampire Slayer #13

Buffy the Vampire Slayer #13 was published in 1999 by Dark Horse Comics as part of their ongoing comic book adaptation of the television series. This issue served as a standalone story during a period when the comic line was instrumental in expanding the mythology of the Buffyverse between broadcast seasons. The narrative was written by Andi Watson, who was a frequent contributor to the series, focusing on capturing the distinctive voices of the characters developed by Joss Whedon.

The issue features artwork by Joe Bennett, whose style in this era sought to balance the likenesses of the actors with a dynamic, sequential storytelling aesthetic typical of late 90s licensed comics. Like much of the Dark Horse run, the book was intended for a dedicated fan base eager for new content during hiatuses. It was received as a solid entry in the series, appreciated for its ability to maintain the tone of the show while exploring episodic supernatural conflicts that were often distinct from the primary seasonal arcs seen on television.
