Buffy the Vampire Slayer #48

Buffy the Vampire Slayer issue #48, titled 'The Problem with Ocean View,' was published by Dark Horse Comics in 2003 as part of the long-running series that bridged the narrative gap between seasons of the television show. Created in the context of the 'Buffy' expanded universe, this issue was part of a stable of stories designed to keep the franchise active during television hiatuses, allowing writers to explore character dynamics that were often constrained by the show's production budget or schedule.

The issue features scripting by Scott Lobdell and illustration by Cliff Richards, a staple artist of the Dark Horse run who was instrumental in establishing the visual style of the comics. The aesthetic sought to balance the recognizable likenesses of the cast with a distinct, dynamic comic book flair. At the time of its release, the comic was well-received by the dedicated fan base for maintaining the character voices of Joss Whedon's original series, serving as a vital piece of the broader Whedonverse mythology.
