By the Grace of the Gods #14

By the Grace of the Gods is a popular light novel series authored by Roy and illustrated by Ririnra, which began as a web novel on the user-generated site Shōsetsuka ni Narō in 2014 before being acquired for print publication by Hobby Japan. The series follows Ryoma Takebayashi, a man who dies and is reincarnated in a fantasy world with the blessing of gods, where he dedicates his time to studying slimes and living a peaceful life. The narrative is noted for its low-stakes, slice-of-life approach, contrasting with typical action-heavy isekai tropes, and has maintained a consistent readership through its light-hearted focus on character development and world-building.

The fourteenth volume of the light novel continues the established visual aesthetic of Ririnra, whose character designs emphasize a soft, approachable fantasy style that aligns with the series' gentle tone. By the time this installment was released, the franchise had expanded into a successful media mix, including a manga adaptation by Ranran and an anime series produced by Maho Film. The release was received as a steady continuation of Ryoma's journey, catering to fans of the 'iyashikei' or healing genre of storytelling, and reflects the maturation of the character within the established magic system of the series.
