Catwoman #90

Catwoman #90 was published in February 2001, serving as part of the final stretch of the character's original solo series before it was relaunched following the 'No Man's Land' event. During this era, the title navigated the complex aftermath of Gotham City's isolation, focusing on Selina Kyle's attempts to redefine her identity beyond the costume. This issue is notable for being part of the run written by Devin Grayson, who was tasked with grounding the character in a more psychological, neo-noir narrative framework.

The cover and interior work reflect the late 1990s and early 2000s aesthetic shift in DC Comics, moving toward slightly grittier character portrayals. Grayson's tenure on the book was aimed at exploring the ethical ambiguities of the Catwoman persona, often highlighting her precarious relationship with both the law and the criminal underworld. The creative direction of this period was generally well-regarded by fans of the era for its focus on Selina's internal monologues and the gritty atmosphere of a rebuilding Gotham.
