Count Duckula #10

Count Duckula #10 was released in 1989 by Marvel Comics' UK imprint as part of a series based on the popular British animated television show created by Cosgrove Hall Films. The series was designed to capitalize on the success of the television program, which followed the vegetarian, theatre-loving vampire duck after a failed reincarnation ritual. The comic format allowed the surreal and slapstick humor of the show to reach a younger print audience, serving as a companion piece to the animation's rising popularity in the late 1980s.

The creative direction for the comic relied heavily on the existing visual language established by the animated series, featuring character designs faithful to the show's vibrant, absurd aesthetic. While the writing team and illustrators were tasked with capturing the frantic energy of Duckula's castle-bound escapades, the series remains a quintessential example of late-80s licensed media. It was received primarily as a collectible for fans of the cartoon, maintaining a niche status among enthusiasts of British animation history.
