Where it came from
Crossovers #2 was released as part of a limited comic series published by IDW in the early 2020s. The series was designed as a meta-narrative exploration of comic book tropes and the relationship between fictional characters and their creators, serving as a self-referential commentary on the medium itself.
The series was written and illustrated by Donny Cates and Geoff Shaw, who aimed to create an ambitious, genre-bending story that frequently breaks the fourth wall. The creative team focused on a visual style that shifts between different artistic sensibilities to mirror the various comic universes depicted within the narrative, and the series was generally well-received by critics for its bold, experimental approach to storytelling.
