Daddy☆Virgin #1

Daddy☆Virgin #1 is a seminal title within the late 1990s and early 2000s Japanese boys' love (BL) manga subculture, representing a period of significant growth for the genre's commercial expansion. It emerged during a time when niche manga publishers were increasingly experimenting with stylized, character-driven narratives that emphasized melodramatic tropes and heightened aesthetic appeal, catering to a dedicated readership interested in the evolution of romantic storytelling within alternative media.

The series is credited to the mangaka known as Kio Shimoku, who crafted the work with a distinct focus on the interplay between humor and character archetypes. The design and narrative direction were intended to subvert conventional tropes of the genre through exaggerated interpersonal dynamics and a whimsical visual style, which helped it find a foothold among contemporary readers who appreciated a blend of parody and sincere emotional exploration in their manga collections.
