Daffy Duck #22

Daffy Duck number 22 was published in 1960 by Dell Comics, serving as part of the long-running Four Color and subsequent solo-title series that brought classic Looney Tunes characters to the comic book format. This era of publication reflected the mid-century dominance of Dell in the licensed comic market, which sought to translate the fast-paced, irreverent energy of theatrical animated shorts into a serialized print medium for younger audiences.

The character design and visual tone of this issue align with the established Warner Bros. animation style of the period, emphasizing the anarchic personality of Daffy Duck as a foil to the more grounded Bugs Bunny. Like other issues in the run, the storytelling typically relied on gag-driven plots and slapstick visuals, a style that was well-received by fans of the animated shorts, although the comic format naturally constrained the kinetic movement of the original cartoons.
