Daffy Duck #73

Daffy Duck number 73 was published by Gold Key Comics in 1971 as part of their long-running Looney Tunes licensing agreement with Warner Bros. During this era, Gold Key produced a variety of digest-sized and standard comic books featuring classic animation characters to appeal to a younger demographic that had grown fond of the theatrical shorts and Saturday morning television reruns.

The interior art and cover design followed the house style established by Western Publishing, which prioritized accessible, slapstick-driven narratives consistent with Daffy's established persona as a greedy and mischievous foil to his peers. While the specific creative teams for individual Gold Key issues were often uncredited due to the publisher's policies of the time, the series served as a foundational example of how classic animation iconography was transitioned into the comic book medium during the mid-twentieth century.
