Dare ga Okudera Shō wo Koroshita no ka? #2

Dare ga Okudera Shō wo Koroshita no ka? (Who Killed Shō Okudera?) was released in Japan during the height of the mystery manga craze in the early 1990s. This series, serialized in the seinen magazine Weekly Morning, belongs to the procedural and psychological thriller genre, focusing on the intricate investigation surrounding the death of the titular character. The narrative is noted for its grounded, methodical approach to detective fiction, distancing itself from the more stylized or supernatural tropes common to the medium at the time.

The design and illustration of this series reflect the stark, urban realism characteristic of Seinen manga from the post-bubble economy era. While individual creator credits for the art are often subsumed into the collective production style of the magazine's editorial output, the series is recognized for its clean linework and emphasis on atmospheric tension rather than action-heavy set pieces. It was received as a solid entry for mature readers who preferred cerebral, character-driven storytelling over the high-octane shonen serials that dominated the market.
