Where it came from
Published in April 1965, Daredevil #7 stands as a significant milestone in the history of Marvel Comics. It was written by Stan Lee with interior art by Wally Wood, who also famously redesigned the character’s costume in this specific issue, replacing the original yellow-and-black suit with the iconic all-red design that remains a definitive part of the character's visual identity today.
The issue is historically noted for introducing Sub-Zero Man, but it is primarily lauded by historians for Wally Wood's contribution to the Marvel house style. Wood, a veteran artist known for his meticulous work at EC Comics, utilized his tenure on the book to elevate the visual storytelling, creating a sleeker, more dynamic look for the Man Without Fear that helped cement Daredevil's place in the burgeoning Marvel Universe.
