Daredevil: Ninja #1

Daredevil: Ninja #1, published in 2000, was a three-issue limited series written by Brian Michael Bendis and illustrated by Klaus Janson. Emerging during a period of creative rejuvenation for Marvel's street-level characters, the series was designed to explore the origins of Daredevil's martial arts training. It serves as a stylistic departure from contemporary Daredevil runs, focusing heavily on the mystical, historical elements of the Hand and Stick's legacy.

Klaus Janson, a legendary figure in Daredevil lore due to his earlier work with Frank Miller, brought a gritty, atmospheric visual style to the book. The series was developed as a bridge between past and future iterations of the character, aiming to satisfy long-time readers interested in the mythos of Matt Murdock's mentors. It was generally well-received for its moody pacing and Janson's return to the character, reinforcing the character's ties to underground combat tropes.
