Dark Horse Presents #65

Dark Horse Presents #65 was published in September 1992 as part of the long-running anthology series that served as the flagship for Dark Horse Comics during the company's formative era. The series was designed to showcase both established industry talent and independent creators, providing a home for experimental narratives and genre-defying stories that often fell outside the scope of mainstream superhero publishers. By its 65th issue, the title had cemented its reputation as a vital venue for high-quality black-and-white storytelling and serialized genre fiction.

This specific issue is notable for its contribution to the expanded universe of the Aliens franchise, featuring creative work that helped broaden the lore of the property. The aesthetic of the issue follows the clean, high-contrast style that defined much of Dark Horse’s early nineties output, prioritizing clear line work and expressive ink-heavy panels. It was received by readers and critics as a reliable entry in a consistently well-regarded anthology, valued by collectors for its role in maintaining the series' momentum during a period of significant growth for the independent comics market.
