Demi-Human Sharehouse #2

Demi-Human Sharehouse, known in Japan as Ajin-chan wa Kataritai, was created by the manga artist Petosu and began its serialization in Kodansha's Young Magazine the 3rd in 2012. The series explores the life of high school teacher Tetsuo Takahashi as he interacts with 'Ajin'—demi-humans who possess unique supernatural traits but desire to live ordinary lives. The second volume continues the series' established tone, balancing gentle slice-of-life comedy with thoughtful commentary on how society integrates those who are perceived as different.

Petosu's character designs for the series are celebrated for their expressive, clean aesthetic, which emphasizes the subtle physical differences of each demi-human character without relying on excessive tropes. Volume two expands the cast and deepens the narrative structure, cementing the work's reputation as a heartfelt exploration of empathy and human connection. Upon its release, the volume was well-received by readers for maintaining the series' balance of humor and character-driven storytelling, ultimately contributing to the franchise's successful adaptation into an anime series.
