Diànyù Pànkè: Biānyuán Xíngzhě - Diānkuáng #1

Diànyù Pànkè: Biānyuán Xíngzhě - Diānkuáng, known internationally as Cyberpunk: Edgerunners - Mania, is a limited series comic expansion set within the universe of the CD Projekt Red video game Cyberpunk 2077. Released in the wake of the successful 2022 Netflix anime adaptation, this title was developed to bridge the visual aesthetic of Studio Trigger's animation with the gritty, neon-soaked narrative style of Night City. The series was designed to provide deeper lore and character exploration, targeting fans of the transmedia franchise who sought to further immerse themselves in the series' distinct high-tech, low-life atmosphere.

The creative direction for these issues leans heavily into the kinetic, vibrant art style established by the anime. The illustrators aimed to mirror the bold color palettes and frantic pacing of the screen adaptation, ensuring consistency across the franchise's visual identity. Upon release, the series was well-received by fans and critics of the genre, who praised its ability to maintain the intense, hyper-stylized energy of the Edgerunners narrative while expanding on the peripheral stories of the city's inhabitants.
