D-Genesis: Three Years After the Dungeons Appeared #8

D-Genesis: Three Years After the Dungeons Appeared is a light novel series authored by Kouru Funatsu, which was subsequently adapted into a manga series illustrated by Nokiya. The story originates from the popular Japanese web novel platform Shousetsuka ni Narou, emerging during the peak of the 'dungeon crawler' subgenre in modern fantasy literature. The narrative follows Yoshimura, a man who gains the unique ability to create dungeons, blending the mechanics of high-stakes dungeon exploration with nuanced world-building that explores how society adapts to the sudden manifestation of dungeons across the globe.

The manga adaptation, illustrated by Nokiya, was created to provide a visual medium for Funatsu’s intricate magic and combat systems. Issue 8 represents a significant point in the manga's run, maintaining the series' signature aesthetic which prioritizes clarity in action sequences alongside character-driven developments. The design and visual direction have been well-received by fans for successfully translating the tension of the web novel into a serialized format, balancing the grit of the dungeon environment with character designs that highlight the protagonists' growth.
