Where it came from
Dinodyssee is a French-language comic series created by the illustrator and writer Arnaud Plumeri, known for his ability to blend paleontological accuracy with accessible, humorous storytelling. The second volume continues the series' mission to explore prehistoric life through a collection of standalone gag strips that aim to demystify scientific facts for a younger audience, following the educational yet entertaining format established in the debut.
The design of Dinodyssee #2 leans heavily on vibrant, expressive character work that characterizes Plumeri’s collaboration with artists like Bloz. The series gained positive reception for its pedagogical approach, effectively bridging the gap between a standard comic book and an educational encyclopedia by placing dinosaurs in relatable, often ironic situations. This volume helped solidify the series as a staple in European youth graphic literature, prized for its commitment to maintaining scientific integrity despite the comedic tone.
