Dread the Hall H 2026 #1

Dread the Hall H 2026 #1 serves as the inaugural installment of a satirical horror-themed comic series inspired by the chaotic atmosphere of San Diego Comic-Con's primary venue. Conceived as a meta-commentary on fan culture and the high-stakes environment of industry panels, the series uses the conventions of the horror genre to amplify the anxieties surrounding exclusive reveals and lines that stretch for miles. It was produced to resonate with attendees who find humor in the frantic, often surreal experience of modern pop culture pilgrimages.

The visual design of this issue leans into gritty, exaggerated aesthetics, utilizing high-contrast ink work that contrasts sharp, monstrous figures with the banal setting of a sterile convention hall. The artistic direction, spearheaded by creators known for their subversion of trope-heavy storytelling, aims to capture the specific tension of a 'must-attend' event turned nightmare. Upon its release, it gained traction within independent comic circles as an observant, albeit cynical, tribute to the industry’s most intense gathering space.
