Dungeon de Service Zangyou o Shite Ita dake Nanoni ~Sasurai no S-kyuu Tansakusha to Uwasa ni Natte Shimaimashita~ #1

Dungeon de Service Zangyou o Shite Ita dake Nanoni ~Sasurai no S-kyuu Tansakusha to Uwasa ni Natte Shimaimashita~ began as a light novel series written by Ennui Tsukishima, eventually receiving a manga adaptation that launched its first volume in 2022. The narrative falls within the popular Japanese light novel genre of office-worker-turned-adventurer, drawing humor from the mundane corporate habits of the protagonist as he navigates high-stakes dungeon exploration. It reflects a growing trend in fantasy literature that blends supernatural action with the relatability of modern professional life.

The character designs and visual execution for the manga adaptation are crafted to emphasize the contrast between the protagonist’s unassuming, overworked exterior and the epic, high-fantasy environments he encounters. The series gained traction for its subversion of traditional tropes, focusing on the character's unintentional accumulation of power and renown. It has been received as a lighthearted, character-driven entry in the Isekai-adjacent dungeon crawler sub-genre, appealing to readers who enjoy stories about unlikely heroes achieving greatness through diligence rather than pure destiny.
