Eightball #1 Facsimile Edition #1

Eightball #1 was originally published in 1989 by Fantagraphics Books, marking the debut of Dan Clowes' seminal alternative comic series. It emerged from the thriving underground comics scene of the late eighties, serving as a platform for Clowes to explore dark, cynical, and surreal vignettes that challenged the conventions of the medium. The series quickly became a touchstone of independent publishing, celebrated for its biting social satire and distinctive, meticulous linework.

The Facsimile Edition was released to celebrate the enduring legacy of the original work, providing readers with a faithful reproduction of the inaugural issue. By preserving the original advertisements, letter columns, and editorial quirks, the edition invites modern audiences to experience the artifact exactly as it appeared to original readers. It serves as both a historical preservation of Clowes' early voice and a testament to the lasting cultural impact of Eightball on contemporary graphic storytelling.
