Elden Ring - The Road to the Erdtree #9

Elden Ring: The Road to the Erdtree is a manga series launched in 2022 to coincide with the global popularity of FromSoftware's video game Elden Ring. Serialized on the Kadokawa-owned website Comic Hu, the series differentiates itself from the game's dark, high-fantasy tone by adopting a comedic, gag-manga approach. Written and illustrated by Nikiichi Tobita, the series follows an impoverished and lightly armored Tarnished who navigates the brutal landscapes of the Lands Between through absurd scenarios.

Issue #9 serves as a chapter installment in this ongoing adaptation, continuing Tobita's stylistic shift where the protagonist’s incompetence is juxtaposed against the game's formidable bosses and locations. By focusing on slapstick humor rather than a faithful retelling of the game's lore, the series has been received by fans as a lighthearted companion piece, intentionally contrasting with the somber atmosphere of the source material. It captures the frantic, often chaotic experience of new players attempting to master a notoriously difficult game.
