Ernie #1995

Ernie was a long-running, popular Dutch weekly comic magazine that centered on the character of the same name, a mischievous but well-meaning orange puppet originally inspired by the Sesame Street cast. The magazine served as a hub for lighthearted humor, puzzles, and serialized stories tailored to younger readers, reflecting the broader trend of character-branded children's media in the Netherlands during the late 20th century.

Issue #1995 fits into the mid-nineties output of the publication, a period when the magazine maintained a consistent aesthetic defined by vibrant, simplified illustrations and accessible narrative structures. The design was largely driven by a team of staff artists and writers who prioritized continuity with the established Sesame Street brand while adapting the content to fit the evolving interests of the Dutch youth market, ultimately cementing the magazine as a staple in many households of that era.
