Fall in Love, You False Angels #5

Fall in Love, You False Angels is a surrealist, experimental manga series created by the artist Akino Kondoh. First serialized in the early 2000s, the work is noted for its dreamlike atmosphere and fluid, sketch-like aesthetic that challenges traditional narrative structures. Kondoh’s design approach prioritizes emotional resonance and symbolic imagery over linear storytelling, reflecting her background in both fine art and animation.

The series emerged from the alternative manga scene, where it gained critical attention for its distinct visual language and unconventional thematic exploration of memory and identity. Issue number five occupies a significant place in the narrative arc, as it continues to weave the series' recurring motifs of girlhood and transformation. It is highly regarded by connoisseurs of avant-garde manga for its artistic vulnerability and the deliberate, minimalist pacing characteristic of Kondoh's broader portfolio.
