Fantastic Four #10

Fantastic Four #10 was published by Marvel Comics in January 1963 during the formative period of the Silver Age of comic books. The issue features the first appearance of Doctor Doom in his primary chronological timeline after his debut in issue #5, solidifying his role as the team's quintessential antagonist. This era of Marvel history, orchestrated by editor Stan Lee, focused on infusing traditional superhero tropes with interpersonal conflict and grounded human insecurities, a shift that helped the Fantastic Four become the company's flagship title.

The creative team for this issue consisted of writer Stan Lee and artist Jack Kirby, with inking duties provided by Dick Ayers. Kirby’s visual design for this period is noted for its dynamic compositions and mechanical detail, particularly in his depiction of Doctor Doom’s armor and the futuristic weaponry integrated into the story. The narrative was received favorably by readers of the time, contributing to the title's momentum in establishing a shared fictional universe where character development was prioritized alongside action.
