Fantastic Four #301

Fantastic Four #301 was published by Marvel Comics in April 1987, arriving during a transitional period for the series following John Byrne's influential multi-year run. This issue was written by Roger Stern, a veteran Marvel writer known for his character-driven approach, with interior art by John Buscema and inks by Sal Buscema. The creative team aimed to maintain the title's momentum by focusing on the complex interpersonal dynamics of the team, particularly during a time when the Fantastic Four's roster was undergoing periodic fluctuations.

The cover art, provided by John Buscema, reflects the traditional superhero aesthetic of the mid-1980s, emphasizing the team's ongoing struggle against encroaching threats. As a mid-tier issue within a long-running series, #301 is primarily valued by collectors for its role in the broader continuity of the Marvel Universe rather than for a standalone landmark event. It remains a representative example of the standard monthly comic book production quality of the era, showcasing the collaborative efforts of the Buscema brothers as they navigated the established legacies of the First Family.
