Fantastic Four #369

Fantastic Four #369, published by Marvel Comics in October 1992, represents a transitional moment in the series during the early 1990s. This issue was part of a larger era of creative experimentation within the Marvel line, featuring a story titled 'The Secret of the Back-Up!' penned by Tom DeFalco with artwork by Paul Ryan. It continues the long-running narrative of Marvel's first family as they navigate complex intergalactic threats and internal team dynamics typical of the post-Claremont era.

The visual direction provided by Paul Ryan focused on the established clean, dynamic aesthetic that defined the Fantastic Four during the 1990s. As a penciler, Ryan was known for his grounded approach to superhero anatomy and architectural precision, which helped stabilize the title's visual identity during a period of frequent turnover in the comic book industry. While this specific issue is viewed today as a standard installment in the series' decades-long run, it remains a tangible artifact of the industry's shift toward the darker, more intricate storytelling trends that dominated the early 90s.
