Fantastic Four #94

Fantastic Four #94 was published by Marvel Comics in January 1970 during a pivotal transitional period for the title. Written by Stan Lee and illustrated by John Buscema with inks by Joe Sinnott, the issue features a confrontation between the Fantastic Four and the Frightful Four. This era of the series was characterized by the departure of co-creator Jack Kirby, leading to a shift in the book's visual identity as artists like Buscema stepped in to maintain the momentum of the world-building established throughout the 1960s.

The issue is noted for its focus on the dynamic between the team members as they face the villainous Frightful Four, a recurring foil designed to mirror the Fantastic Four's own team structure. While the Silver Age of comics was beginning to fade into the Bronze Age, this issue exemplifies the house style that solidified Marvel's dominance in the market. It remains a representative example of the character-driven superhero storytelling that Stan Lee championed, highlighting both the interpersonal tensions of the group and the high-stakes cosmic threats that defined the Fantastic Four mythos.
