Felix the Cat #62

Felix the Cat #62 was published by Harvey Comics during the mid-1950s, a period when the character had transitioned from his silent film roots into a staple of mid-century comic book publishing. By this time, Felix was managed by Joe Oriolo, who had taken over the property from original creator Otto Messmer and steered the character toward a softer, more rounded aesthetic suitable for a younger audience. This issue reflects the standard episodic storytelling of the era, focusing on surreal, slapstick adventures that maintained the character's global popularity.

The design of this era favored bold, clean lines and simple character expressions, ensuring Felix remained instantly recognizable across different media formats. These comics were part of a broader push to keep Felix relevant alongside newer animated properties, and while they are now viewed primarily as charming historical artifacts of the Golden and Silver Ages, they were received at the time as accessible, lighthearted entertainment for children.
