FemForce #107

FemForce #107 was published by AC Comics in 1993, continuing the long-running adventures of the publisher's flagship superheroine team. The title, created by Bill Black in the early 1980s, was designed as a nostalgic homage to the Golden Age of comics, specifically the 'good girl art' style popularized by artists like Matt Baker and L.B. Cole. By the mid-90s, the series had established a dedicated niche following by blending retro aesthetic sensibilities with evolving continuity.

This particular issue remains representative of the series' commitment to independent, creator-driven storytelling during a period when the mainstream market was dominated by massive shifts in corporate publishing. The creative direction for FemForce consistently focused on high-adventure narratives featuring female protagonists, often utilizing a rotating team of illustrators who adhered to the distinct pin-up style that defined the series' visual identity. It is regarded by collectors of independent comic history as a piece of a sustained effort to keep classic comic book archetypes alive outside of the major publishing houses.
