FemForce #109

FemForce #109, released by AC Comics in the mid-1990s, is a significant installment in the long-running FemForce series, a title that has been a mainstay of the independent comic book industry since its debut in 1985. The series was created by Bill Black as a tribute to the Golden Age of comic books, specifically the female superhero archetypes that flourished during the 1940s and 1950s. This issue continues the series' signature blend of classic pulp-style adventure and campy science fiction tropes, maintaining the aesthetic of retro-inspired artwork that defined the publisher's output.

The creative direction for FemForce was largely steered by Bill Black, who often took on multiple roles including writer, editor, and occasionally artist. The series is notable for its commitment to a shared universe that emphasizes team-based dynamics and historical continuity, often referencing the very comic history it seeks to emulate. While FemForce occupies a niche corner of the comic market, it is widely recognized by enthusiasts for its endurance as one of the longest-running independent comic book series, serving as a persistent love letter to the history of the medium.
