FemForce #32

FemForce issue number 32, published in 1990 by AC Comics, represents a distinct entry in the long-running independent series created by Bill Black. The series emerged in the mid-1980s as a nostalgic homage to the Golden Age of comics, specifically focusing on a team of super-powered women. By the time this issue was released, AC Comics had solidified its niche by blending classic pin-up style artistry with superhero tropes that harkened back to the 1940s and 1950s aesthetic.

The creative direction for the series consistently leaned into the stylized, exaggerated character designs pioneered by Bill Black. The intent behind the series was to offer an alternative to the grim-and-gritty trend dominating mainstream comics during that era, opting instead for a lighter, action-oriented tone that prioritized character-driven adventure. The series maintained a dedicated, if specialized, readership that appreciated its commitment to maintaining the visual language of comic book history.
