Flash Gordon Quarterly #7

Flash Gordon Quarterly was produced by Kitchen Sink Press during the mid-1970s, a period marked by a significant resurgence in interest toward vintage comic strips and golden age science fiction. This particular series was designed as a high-quality showcase for the original Alex Raymond Sunday pages, aiming to preserve the intricate illustrative detail of the 1930s era for a new generation of enthusiasts and scholars who valued the artistic legacy of the medium.

The publication was part of a larger trend of archival reprints that sought to elevate the stature of newspaper comics as fine art. Issue number 7 reflects the meticulous curation typical of the Kitchen Sink imprint, which was widely praised by the burgeoning comic fandom of the decade for its commitment to archival integrity and its role in reintroducing the public to Raymond’s masterful line work and visionary art deco aesthetics.
