Fortune Quest #4

Fortune Quest #4 is part of the fantasy comic book series published by Comico in the late 1980s. The series was created by writer Mike Baron and artist Dave Ross, drawing inspiration from the collaborative nature of tabletop role-playing games. The narrative follows a party of adventurers as they traverse a complex world, emphasizing the camaraderie and tactical challenges typical of early fantasy gaming culture.

The visual direction of the series was defined by Dave Ross’s clean, dynamic linework, which sought to bridge the gap between traditional comic book aesthetics and the high-fantasy illustrations popular in the gaming community at the time. While the series has maintained a dedicated cult following among collectors of independent 1980s comics, it remains a niche entry in the landscape of speculative fiction, recognized primarily for its earnest exploration of party-based storytelling.
