Fragile: Byōrii Kishi Kyōichirō no Shoken #31

Fragile: Byōri Kishi Kyōichirō no Shoken is a Japanese seinen manga series written by Saburō Megumi and illustrated by Saburō Megumi and Kensuke Tanaka, serialized in Kodansha's Monthly Afternoon magazine. The narrative centers on Keiichirō Kishi, a brilliant but eccentric pathologist who navigates the complex political and medical landscapes of his hospital. The series is lauded for its grounded approach to medical diagnostics, emphasizing the critical, often unseen role of pathology in patient care rather than the more common surgical or emergency room tropes found in the genre.

Issue 31 is part of the ongoing evolution of the series, which has consistently focused on the tension between bureaucratic hospital administration and Kishi's uncompromising professional standards. The design and aesthetic prioritize a clinical, realistic portrayal of medical environments, reflecting the creators' commitment to professional accuracy. Since its debut in 2014, the series has received positive critical reception for its depth of research and its ability to turn the often clinical process of diagnosing illness into a compelling, high-stakes drama.
