Where it came from
Franken Fran: Frantic is the sequel series to Katsuhisa Kigitsu’s original cult-classic horror-comedy manga, Franken Fran. The series centers on Fran, a biological genius created by the late Dr. Madaraki, who performs grotesque and morally complex surgeries on patients, usually resulting in unexpected and horrifying consequences that subvert standard medical ethics.
This twelfth installment continues the series' signature blend of dark humor, body horror, and philosophical exploration regarding the nature of humanity and scientific advancement. Illustrated by Kigitsu, the work is noted for its high-contrast, detailed linework and its juxtaposition of Fran’s cheerful, polite demeanor against the gruesome reality of her clinical experiments, earning a dedicated following among fans of seinen horror.
