Freedom Fighters #10

Freedom Fighters #10, published by DC Comics in 1977, arrived during the final stretch of the series' initial run. The title featured characters originally acquired from Quality Comics, reimagined in a darker, more contemporary superhero context. This issue continued the team's ongoing struggle against the forces of the Silver Ghost, reflecting the late 1970s fascination with recontextualizing Golden Age archetypes for a modern readership.

The creative direction for this era of the series was heavily influenced by the work of writer Bob Kanigher and artist Ramona Fradon. They aimed to balance the nostalgic appeal of the characters' wartime origins with the evolving narrative sensibilities of the Bronze Age of comics. While the title faced commercial headwinds that ultimately led to its cancellation shortly after this issue, it remains a notable example of DC's efforts to integrate its expansive historical catalog into the broader shared universe.
