Fright Night: The Witching Hour #1

Fright Night: The Witching Hour #1 was published in 1988 by Now Comics as part of their licensed expansion of the 1985 cult horror film Fright Night. Emerging during the late 1980s trend of adapting popular motion pictures into ongoing comic book series, this title sought to capitalize on the film's blend of suburban gothic horror and dark humor. It served to flesh out the lore surrounding the film's central antagonist, Jerry Dandrige, and his interactions with the supernatural, providing fans with additional narratives that were not explored on screen.

The comic featured writing and illustration work typical of the independent horror boom of that era, focusing on atmospheric storytelling and creature design. It was aimed primarily at the niche market of horror enthusiasts who frequented comic shops during the period. While it garnered a dedicated following among fans of the original film, the series remains primarily of interest to collectors of 1980s licensed media and those documenting the history of independent horror publications.
