FullMoon. En Busca de la Luna Llena #1

Full Moon o Sagashite, known in Spanish as Full Moon: En Busca de la Luna Llena, is a shojo manga series written and illustrated by Arina Tanemura. Serialized in the Japanese magazine Ribon between 2002 and 2004, the story follows Mitsuki Koyama, a young girl with a terminal throat tumor who dreams of becoming a professional singer. Tanemura, recognized for her ornate art style and focus on emotive, music-driven narratives, crafted this series during the height of her popularity in the early 2000s, blending themes of magical transformation with poignant explorations of grief and ambition.

The Spanish edition, released by Glénat (now Editores de Tebeos) starting in the mid-2000s, served to bring Tanemura’s distinct aesthetic to the Spanish-speaking market during a period of significant growth for manga licensing in Spain. The design of the first volume highlights Tanemura’s characteristic detail, featuring delicate character designs and elaborate costume work that define the 'magical girl' genre of the era. The series was well-received by readers for its balance of lighthearted fantasy and the genuinely somber reality of the protagonist's condition, ultimately becoming a staple of many personal manga libraries from that time.
