Gen 13 #47

Gen 13 #47 was published in 1999 during the latter half of the series' original run under the WildStorm imprint. Created by Jim Lee, Brandon Choi, and J. Scott Campbell, the Gen 13 series emerged from the 1990s Image Comics boom, focusing on a group of superpowered teenagers on the run from a shadow organization. By the time this issue was released, the series had evolved through various creative team changes, maintaining its signature aesthetic that blended high-octane action with the edgy, stylized character designs that defined the period's independent superhero comics.

The issue features cover and interior work that reflects the house style established by the WildStorm studio, which prioritized a polished, kinetic visual approach. As the series progressed into its late nineties iteration, it navigated the shift in comic book trends toward more experimental storytelling while keeping the core interpersonal dynamics of the teen team at the forefront. The reception of these later issues was generally anchored by a dedicated fanbase that had followed the characters since the franchise's inception in 1994, valuing the continuity of the WildStorm universe.
