Gøg og Gokke #197117

Gøg og Gokke, the Danish name for the legendary comedy duo Laurel and Hardy, has enjoyed a long and affectionate presence in Nordic pop culture, leading to various licensed publications. Issue #197117 belongs to a series of Danish-language comic books that adapted the duo's slapstick adventures into print during the mid-to-late 20th century. These publications were aimed at younger readers and fans of classic cinema, translating the physical comedy and dynamic personality clashes of Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy into the static, colorful panels of the comic medium.

The design of these comics typically utilized archival photographic stills combined with illustrative layouts common to the era's lighthearted humor magazines. Created to capitalize on the enduring popularity of the duo’s films on Danish television, the production prioritized accessibility and visual familiarity. While the individual creators for specific issues often remain uncredited in favor of the production house's house style, the series is widely regarded by Nordic collectors as a nostalgic artifact that captures the mid-century European appetite for vintage Hollywood iconography.
